Marketing Funnel Mastery with Mike Klingler – UPDATE

Greetings from Hiro Kaneko.

I just attended an awesome webinar last night hosted by Mike Klingler.

I was one of the lucky ones to make it on there live as it was maxed out at 1000 participants really fast.

it was a bit crazy to see GoToWebinar bugging out like that from people trying to jump on after it reached max capacity… more on that later…

*****************************
But first, a couple of important business items:

#1 – Mike’s new ‘Marketing Funnel Mastery‘ course is going to be available for free to all Renegade Professional members. If you already are a member, congrats! enjoy the course as I am/will because this will be a game changer!

Mike said that he will be re-recording the entire presentation rather than do massive editing of last night’s webinar. The recording should be available on thursday or friday.

#2 – For those who are not yet a member of Renegade Professional (or don’t even know what it is), this is a perfect opportunity to take advantage of Mike’s
generous offer.

His ‘Marketing Funnel Mastery‘ course will be sold for $997 after he closes the door this Saturday evening.

as mentioned earlier, this entire course is f.ree to all Renegade Professional members. Even without this course, it’s a no-brainer for me, but with this, there’s absolutely no excuse for you not to join if you really want to make big things happen for you.

Find out more detail below:
=> http://ClickByClickHomeBusiness.com

#3 – If you do join through my link, you’ll get 30 minutes of one on one coaching with me. As you may already know, I am a member of Coaching Cognition so you’ll get REAL coaching. You can be coached on ANY topic you like during the session – internet marketing, attraction marketing, any specific online marketing strategies, keyword research… you name it… even tax strategies (which is what I did for 15 years in corporate america where my hourly charge rate was $972 per hour at the time I walked away =))

Just make sure you join thru this link below:
=> http://ClickByClickHomeBusiness.com
and forward your receipt to kaneko.hiro@gmail.com with the subject line “Marketing Funnel Mastery BONUS” and I’ll get in touch with you to schedule our coaching session.

***************************

Back to what happened last night…

With a rush of thousands of people trying to get on the webinar, it totally bugged out the gotowebinar system.

Pop-up messages kept popping up Mike’s screen every few seconds saying “You have exceeded 1001 participants and someone is trying to join. Please delete a participant to allow them access.”

This is what happens even with the leading webinar service on the market today. These pop up messages literally interfered with Mike’s presentation and
froze the screenshots… that’s why Mike is re-recording the entire presentation for us =)

But we kept going, and I understand that 950 people (including myself) stayed thru the entire 2 hour webinar.

Now, all I can say about what Mike shared last night is WOW! I knew he would deliver in a big way, but I now truly believe this “Marketing Funnel Mastery” course will revolutionize the entire industry.

So, the re-recorded presentation should be up for anyone to watch on thursday or friday. This will be free for everyone, but only until Saturday evening.

Make sure you watch the re-make if you didn’t get on last night cuz this is surely a game changer.

Cheers,
Hiro

Life Lessons from Frank Sinatra

No, I’m not that old…

But I just love this song ‘My Way’ by Frank Sinatra.

It’s really chock full of life lessons and how one may wish to lead his or her life.

I remember my old man used to love singing this song at Karaoke. So did my Taekwon-do grand master. They both took the road less traveled… on their own terms… no apologies. They have both been my inspirations and mentors of mine who have shown me a noble way to lead one’s life. I think that’s why they both loved this song and loved singing it… because the song, in their own ways told their respective stories.

I also see leadership qualities that can be learned from the song, especially for entrepreneurs (which, by the way, is a term that originated from French which means someone who is willing to take upon herself or himself a new venture or enterprise and accepts full responsibility for the outcome… thought it was quite fitting.)

Well, without further ado, here are the lyrics (for those who’ve never heard of the song before).

Enjoy!

And now, the end is near,
And so I face the final curtain.
My friends, I’ll say it clear;
I’ll state my case of which I’m certain.

I’ve lived a life that’s full -
I’ve traveled each and every highway.
And more, much more than this,
I did it my way.

Regrets? I’ve had a few,
But then again, too few to mention.
I did what I had to do
And saw it through without exemption.

I planned each charted course -
Each careful step along the byway,
And more, much more than this,
I did it my way.

Yes, there were times, I’m sure you knew,
When I bit off more than I could chew,
But through it all, when there was doubt,
I ate it up and spit it out.
I faced it all and I stood tall
And did it my way.

I’ve loved, I’ve laughed and cried,
I’ve had my fill – my share of losing.
But now, as tears subside,
I find it all so amusing.

To think I did all that,
And may I say, not in a shy way -
Oh no. Oh no, not me.
I did it my way.

For what is a man? What has he got?
If not himself – Then he has naught.
To say the things he truly feels
And not the words of one who kneels.
The record shows I took the blows
And did it my way.

Yes, it was my way.

[Income Tax Advice] How To Tilt The Tax Laws In Your Favor

If you’d ask me what one income tax advice I can give you that will have the biggest impact on your bottomline, it would be this: To realize that there are two tax systems in this country (and in many others), and use the tax system that will tilt the tax laws in your favor.

The Conspiracy Against Your MoneyBelieve it or not, there are two income tax systems in this country that you should be aware of – one for the “educated” and the other for the “uneducated” (i.e. one for those who know the rules, and the other for those who don’t; they may also be known as “the system for employees or W-2 wage earners” and “the system for self-employed or small business and/or home based business owners”). And the important thing to note here is that you get to choose which one you want to be in.

The first system, or the “educated” system, is designed to create economic growth. The second system, or the “uneducated” system, is designed to take away your wealth.

Note that they are not “the system for the rich” and “the system for the poor” as it is sometimes mistakenly known to be. Even if you are not millionaires or billionaires (at least not yet), you can also benefit from the “educated” system by studying the rules and applying the knowledge.

Here’s a simple formula to illustrate the difference:

SYSTEM FOR THE EDUCATED (BUSINESS OWNERS) SYSTEM FOR THE UNEDUCATED (EMPLOYEES)
EARN EARN
Less: SPEND Less: PAY TAXES
PAY TAXES SPEND

In the first system, the amount of taxes you pay is based NOT on the amount of money you earn, but on the amount of money you have left over after deducting all of the expenditures you may have for your business from what you’ve earned.

In contrast, in the second system, the amount of taxes you pay is based on the amount of money you earn from your job as salaries and wages. The taxes are immediately taken out of your earnings through tax withholding. Whatever that’s left over is the amount you can spend. That’s the basic pattern of wage earners or the uneducated tax system.

If you take a look at your recent pay stub, you’ll see that the first line is your gross pay. Let’s say it’s $1,000 for simplicity’s sake. But as you probably already know, you can’t live on the $1,000 because you have taxes to pay. Federal taxes, state taxes, city taxes… and FICA or social security taxes where you pay half and your employer pays the other.

Adding them up, an average American pays anywhere between 42% and 55% in taxes. In other words, pretty much half of what you make goes to pay your taxes! … and this doesn’t include sales tax, property tax, excise tax, gasoline tax, and many other forms of taxes that you likely not pay too much attention to…

Let’s go over an example. Suppose you are an employee with annual salary of $100,000:

Income                         $100,000
less: Taxes (approx.)    <$50,000>
Spendable Income          $50,000

Can you see now what Bill Gates was referring to in my previous post, The Truth About Taxes That They Don’t Want You To Know About? He knew that the secret to building wealth was not simply making a ton of money, but was keeping more of what he made! It’s really about what you keep… not just how much you make (although this is part of the formula).

It’s a lot more difficult to get ahead when you’re paying upwards of 50% of your hard-earned money to the “tax man”…

Now, as an employee, it’s true that you do have a limited number of deduction items such as individual retirement account (IRA) contributions, 401(k)s, mortgage interest and property tax deductions for your home, charitable contributions deductions, etc.

But, the number of items is very limited compared to those that are available to self-employed and business owners.

The “educated” tax system provides a significant tax advantage over the “uneducated” tax system. Business owners are allowed to effectively lower the amount of money on which they are taxed (as you can see from the illustration above).

Why is there such a huge, fundamental difference in the way business owners are taxed compared to wage earners?

Well, I am not sure. Maybe it’s because this country was founded by entrepreneurs. Maybe it’s because the country’s economy is driven by business activities, which in turn employ people who pay taxes on the salaries/wages that they earn (hmm… encouraging businesses to create more jobs for people who will start paying taxes in the “uneducated” tax system…). Business owners make political contributions to support the elected officials and lawmakers who in turn run the government.

Whatever the reasons, the important thing for YOU is to realize that there exists this major, fundamental difference in the taxation system, and to capitalize on it.

So, what can you do?

If you’ve already got a business or are self-employed, great. You’re well on your way to reap the benefits that are afforded to you. If you don’t already have a business, now is the time to really consider it. Learn and use the “educated” tax system as soon as possible and start to tilt the tax laws in your favor!

Here’s a couple of resources to get you started (even if you already are a business owner, these are great tax educational resources for you):

book => Lower Your Taxes – Big Time! 2009-2010 Edition (Lower Your Taxes Big Time)
audio => Tax Strategies for Business Professionals (I got you a 10% discount from the author – just use “hiro” as your coupon code and you’ll get a 10% discount on this audio series as well as any other products on the site if you are interested ;-)

Both resources are products of Sandy Botkin who I’ve personally met in person and have been following throughout my tax professional career, and he is the real deal ;-)

Well, good luck! and make your life LESS TAXING!

The Truth About Taxes That They Don’t Want You To Know About…

“The single most important key to my business success is a working knowledge of the tax code.”

Can you guess who quoted the above?

The Conspiracy Against Your MoneyWhen I heard it for the first time, it really caught me by surprise because I was expecting something very different from this billionaire.

Perhaps something related to marketing, technological innovation, etc.

But, no. This is what this person said he thought the single most important key to business success is. “The working knowledge of the tax code

This is one of the richest men in the world talking.

Well, you probably guessed it right. It is a quote from Bill Gates, the founder & chairman of Microsoft.

If this is something that’s coming from Bill Gates who knows a thing or two about business success and wealth building, I think you should take note of it and apply it for yourself.

Here’s why.

Billionaires and millionaires alike, they are most likely to be the ones paying less than 10% of their income in taxes. Yes, single digit… when the average population is paying anywhere from 25% to more than 50% in income taxes.

What do they know that you don’t?

The best-selling authors of the book The Millionaire Next Door said that most of those who reached the millionaire status didn’t do so by inheriting a lot of money, hitting it big on Wall Street, or picking up a winning lotto.

They were, mostly, average persons who consistently saved up, little by little, year after year.

With diligent saving habits and solid financial planning, they invested their savings in average investments (e.g. mutual funds) for the long-term.

Ok. Let’s say you invest $4,000 per year (e.g. with the cash from your tax savings) in an average mutual fund with an average annual rate of return of 11.5% for the next 30 years. After those 30 years, you would have $1,048,745.68!

So here’s the very simple and powerful, yet commonly overlooked principle that most wealthy people understand and apply:

It’s not how much money you make that counts. It’s how much you keep.

Yes. It is simple and common sense. But understanding AND applying the principle is the key.

No matter what your business is, taxes are by far the largest expense for most people. As a matter of fact, with federal, state and local, and FICA taxes combined, many people are paying in excess of 50% of what they make on taxes as shown in the table below.

Federal State/Local FICA Total
10.0% 7.0% 15.3% 32.3%
15.0% 7.0% 15.3% 37.3%
25.0% 7.0% 15.3% 47.3%
28.0% 7.0% 15.3% 50.3%
33.0% 7.0% 15.3% 55.3%
35.0% 7.0% 15.3% 57.3%

Yes. Over 50%! And this is just income taxes. You don’t want to know what you’ll be looking at when you start considering how much you pay on other taxes e.g. property taxes, sales taxes, luxury taxes…

If you don’t think tax planning is important, think again!

So, why is it that you, a hard working, dedicated employee and/or business owner, might be paying over 50% of your earnings in taxes when many of the millionaires and billionaires are paying less than 10%?

Are they doing anything illegal or unethical?

Absolutely not. They’ve got absolutely nothing to hide.

Here’s the thing.

The quality of questions you ask yourself combined with a positive, let’s-get-it-done attitude is what you must have if you are really driven to succeed in keeping more of what you make and building your wealth.

Ask yourself this question: “How can you also pay less than 10% in taxes just like these millionaires and billionaires?

You are always going to have to pay taxes in one form or another (even if Ron Paul gets elected in the future and implements what he had long advocated to end the federal income tax – which is highly unlikely in itself – but even if… you’ll still be facing FICA taxes, state and local taxes, etc.). This will never change.

So a smart thing for you to do is not to blame the current taxation system for it, but to face the situation as it is and ask yourself, “what can I do to pay less in taxes?”

Start a Home Based Business (if you haven’t already done so) and Here’s Why

In this day and age economic down trend, an uptrend to start a home based business is spreading across this country and have become widely recognized as one of the most desirable businesses to start.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics says that out of 100 people that start working at the age of 25, by the age of 65…

  • 1 is wealthy
  • 4 have enough money to retire
  • 63 depend on Social Security or charity
  • 29 are deceased

What’s shocking about these statistics is …95% of people, age 65 and over cannot afford to retire …many will be forced to work until they die. What happened to safety and security?

In J. Paul Getty’s book ‘How To Get Rich,’ his first rule for success is, ‘You must be in business for yourself. You will never get rich working for someone else.’

This may be one reason why, according to Home Incorporated, every 10 seconds in the U.S. someone starts a home based business. Tens of thousands of people are waking up to the fact that there is a better way to make a living.

According to Success from Home magazine, there are three factors that are changing the landscape of how people make a living in the 21st century.

1. No Job Is Secure

The days of staying with one company for your entire career (like your father did) are over. In these days of frequent layoffs and downsizing, even state and government jobs no longer enjoy this “secure” status. Budget constraints due to a lack of consistent tax revenue coming in (the money that goes to pay for these jobs) have forced many of these people to consider other job opportunities.

2. Technology

The computer and the advent of the Internet has allowed small business owners to expand their reach for customers from a local business, limited to a certain geographic area, to a global enterprise almost overnight. The way we communicate today has little to do with where your office is located – millions start their own businesses right out of their homes. Even employers are seeing the benefits of having employees work out of their homes.

3. A desire to Take Control of One’s Future

For most middle-income Americans, living paycheck-to-paycheck has simply become a way of life. In Rich Dad, Poor Dad, Robert Kiyosaki talks about the long-term effects of this kind of lifestyle. “Financial struggle is often directly the result of people working all of their life for someone else. Many people will have nothing at the end of their working days.” A new generation of entrepreneurial-minded people is reversing this once inevitable subsistence by starting their own businesses. They are creating a better life for themselves and their families by taking control of their income.

I am a strong advocate of people starting a business, particularly to start a home based business. Here are some of the reasons why:

No boss

You are the boss. You get to make all the decisions. Decisions on what to work on (your passion), how to work them (your way), how much you want to work (your time), etc.. And, you do not have to put up with an upset, stressed out, procrastinating boss and answer to his/her demands and orders. Wouldn’t that be great?

Yes, you are accountable for the results as well. You take all the responsibilities. But you will have no ceiling on your earnings. And besides, when you are working on your passion, work will not feel like work. It will be something you look forward to. You will want to wake up early to get to work because you can’t wait.

No Commute

You don’t have to commute to work everyday and waste your precious time in rush-hour traffic or on public transportation. You will also have the freedom to spend more time with your family and friends.

Freedom To Work When You Want

The freedom to set your own hours to work is, in my opinion, one of the best reasons to start a home based business. This freedom is especially valuable for stay-at-home moms (or dads) who have children to take care of and need the flexibility in their work schedules.

Freedom To Work On What You Want

Starting your own business inspires your creativity as you involve yourself in the things that you love to do. You can be working on your passion and getting paid for it. It’s a great feeling to be in control of your life and doing what you want.

You Don’t Have To Quit Your Current JOB

You can always start out on a part-time basis until things get rolling and you’re able to replace your income from your job with the income you generate from your home based business. An added bonus here is that any losses that you incur in your start up phase (most businesses normally start out this way) can offset your other income (e.g. wages from your job, interest, dividends, your spouse’s wages, etc.) thereby reducing your tax bill (significantly).

No More Worrying About Your Job Security

You will no longer have to worry about the economy or corporate mergers that often results in “restructuring” and “downsizing”. Nor will you have to worry any longer about playing office politics just for the sake of your job security.

Small Startup Cost

Many traditional businesses require a heavy investment in equipment and office/retail space. When you start a home based business, you usually do not have these huge initial capital outlays. Of course, depending on how far you want to grow your business, you can choose to invest more into the business as the business grows. Still, the initial capital investment that’s required is far less than many traditional businesses.

No employees (or very few of them… maybe or spouse and/or children?)

With more and more regulations being imposed on businesses by the government, it has become an administrative nightmare. A serious business needs to hire specialists to keep up with the regulations.

Little, if any, chance of lawsuits

An ancillary reason for not having employees. Once you start to have employees, there are possibilities where they have to sue you for something (of course, they could very well be good employees, working hard with loyalty for you day in and day out).  But, in this litigious environment, you really want to try to minimize that risk.

Much less overhead costs (compared to traditional businesses)

Overhead costs or overhead expenses refer to ongoing expenses of operating a business. The term overhead is usually used to group expenses that are necessary to the continued functioning of the business but that do not directly generate profits.

Overhead expenses are all costs on the income statement except for direct labor and direct materials. Overhead expenses include accounting, advertising, depreciation, indirect labor, insurance, interest, legal fees, rent, repairs, supplies, taxes, telephone, travel and utilities.

When you start a home based business, your overhead costs will be significantly less than a traditional, brick and mortar business, biggest item being rent. As you are working out of your own home that you already own or rent, there’s no additional cash going out, whereas a traditional business will usually rent out an office space, a wholesale/retail space, restaurant space, etc.

A Sense Of Pride

Wouldn’t you feel great to be able to tell your family and friends or just somebody you meet that you are an entrepreneur running and operating your own ‘home based business’?

Increase Your Confidence

Setting out to start a home based business from the ground up is an endeavor that will surely bring about many different challenges, personally, financially, emotionally, etc.. You are embarking on a mission without the certainty of outcomes and the risks involved. You will gain confidence as a person as you face and overcome these challenges.

The late Jim Rohn, who has been internationally hailed over the years as one of the most influential thinkers of our time, often mentions about this lesson he received from his mentor, Earl Shoaff:

Set a goal to become a millionaire for what it makes of you to achieve it.

Do it for the skills you have to learn and the person you have to become. Do it for what you’ll end up knowing about the market place. What you’ll learn about the management of time and working with people.

Do it for the ability of discovering how to keep your ego in check – for what you have to learn about being benevolent. Being kind as well as being strong. What you have to learn about society and business and government and taxes and becoming an accomplished person to reach the status of millionaire.

All that you have learned and all that you’ve become to reach the status of millionaire is what’s valuable. Not the million dollars.”

Money is important. That’s the primary reason for most people to work at a job or to consider starting a business. We all need to pay our bills, put a roof over our heads and get something to wear. We also want to enjoy the good things in life and take vacations.

But what if you set a goal to succeed in business for what it makes of you to achieve it? Wouldn’t that be inspiring?

And finally…

Tax Benefits

Having your own business opens the door to significant tax benefits. Tax benefits that most people don’t even know they exist. Tax benefits that can save you tens of thousands of dollars every year.

And this is one of my specialties as a former Certified Public Accountant and a tax consultant.

Stay tuned… as I begin to reveal to you the tremendous tax benefits that are afforded to business owners (that are not available to employees e.g. W2 wage earners).

Are You Clear on Your “WHY”?

I constantly read up and learn from various mentors of mine because I know that “success leaves clues”. And one of the things that ALL my mentors as well as other “successful” people that I know of have in common is a clear sense of their life purpose – the reason “WHY”. They all take their time to identify, acknowledge, and honor their “WHY”… what they’re all here to do on earth… and pursue their “WHY” with passion and enthusiasm.

Wherever you are at in your life, I believe revisiting your “WHY” is a great exercise that should be done frequently. Being that it’s the first day of the new decade and all, I decided to do this exercise myself and I suggest you do the same. Here’s why…

Without getting clear on your “WHY”, it’s extremely easy to get sidetracked on your life’s journey… wandering and drifting… without accomplishing much.

What does “being on purpose” mean?

There are different ways of defining the phrase, but here’s the best description I’ve ever heard of:

“To be “on purpose” means you’re doing what you love to do, doing what you’re good at and accomplishing what’s important to you. When you truly are on purpose, the people, resources, and opportunities you need naturally gravitate toward you. The world benefits, too, because when you act in alignment with your true life purpose, all of your actions automatically serve others.”

Isn’t that awesome?

Do you have a clear “WHY” behind everything you do?

Your “WHY” is like a compass that can guide you, your goals and your actions. Without this compass, you may be pursuing goals and diligently following action plans that may not ultimately fulfill you. The last thing you want is to get to the top of the ladder only to find out you had it leaning up against the wrong wall.

Ok. So, here’s the exercise called “The Life Purpose Exercise” that I did for myself. I learned of this exercise from the book, The Success Principles by Jack Canfield (it’s on page 23 of the book). It’s a simple, 4-step exercise but is really powerful. After sharing the steps, I’ll share what I came up with.

The 4 steps goes like this:

  1. List two of your unique personal qualities.
  2. List one or two ways you enjoy expressing those qualities when interacting with others.
  3. Assume the world is perfect right now. What does this world look like? How is everyone interacting with everyone else? What does it feel like? Write your answer as a statement, in the present tense, describing the ultimate condition, the perfect world as you see it and feel it.
  4. Combine the three prior subdivisions of this paragraph into a single statement.

Pretty simple right?

Ok. Here’s what I got from going through the exercise.

  1. passion to help others, patience
  2. to empower, to inspire
  3. everyone is enjoying abundance; everyone is joyous and having fun; everyone is working in harmony.
  4. My purpose is to use my passion to help others and patience to empower and inspire them to live their highest self based in abundance, joy and harmony.

So… the end result is what you see on 4) which represents MY life purpose statement that expresses MY “WHY” which will serve as my compass, guiding and directing my behavior going forward.

Now, I’m sure I’ll be tweaking this in the future as I evolve as an individual (and I don’t even know if I did this exercise correctly as intended, but what the hell… it looks pretty good to me for now…).

I hope the above serves as a good reference for you and encourages you to take a stab at the exercise as well. I’m sure it will be worth your while and will help you in your life’s journey.

Wishing you nothing but success,

hirokaneko

Hiro

P.S. – love to hear what you’ve got out of this exercise. leave a comment and let me know! ;-)

6 Critical Factors To Consider When Selecting Your Marketing Strategies

If you’re considering OFFLINE marketing methods, you’ve got…

Direct Mails
Postcards
Conference Calls
Teleseminars
Radio
Newspaper and Magazine ads
Television
Press Releases
etc…

Or, if you’re considering ONLINE marketing methods, you’ve got…

Article marketing
Video marketing
Online Press Releases
Blogging
Forum marketing
Ezine advertising
Social Networking
Website marketing
Pay-Per-Click marketing
etc.

As you can see, there are literally dozens and dozens of effective marketing strategies that can be used and implemented to help you get your message out and build your business.

But, with so many marketing strategies to choose from, you’re probably asking yourself,

“How the heck do I decide which ones to focus on?”

It’s a great question, and one that I’ve also encountered when I got started. Do phrases like ‘information overload‘ and ‘lack of focus‘ sound familiar to you?

Well, that’s exactly how I felt when I got started. I was fortunate enough to be able to locate a great training platform that showed me all these options to choose from and I literally dabbled in every single one of them to see how things worked and which ones would give me results.

In a way, it was good to understand the different options out there because I can see the potentials in each and every one of them. But spreading myself too thin and trying to do everything mediocre did not bring in the results I wanted.

So, from personal experience, my suggestion for you is to choose one to three marketing methods and get really good at them, and then and only then look into other options to diversify your marketing.

Here is a list of things I suggest you consider in choosing the marketing strategies you want to focus on:

1) Identify your personal marketing budget.

Basically, figuring out and deciding on how much money you can and are willing to spend on your marketing every month. If you decide that your budget is less than $100 per month, I highly suggest you focus on ONLINE marketing methods because OFFLINE methods generally cost more across the board. I would say a healthy OFFLINE marketing budget to be no less than $300 per moth.

2) Identify how much TIME you have each week to commit to your marketing efforts.

This is another ‘budget’ that you need to figure out and decide. If you have a full-time job and are building your business on a part-time basis, you certainly have less time to build your business compared to someone who’s doing it full-time. You’d also want to make sure you consider setting your ‘personal’ or ‘fun’ time that you may want to spend with your family, friends, on hobbies, rest/relaxing, etc.

I’m a big proponent of work/life balance (I would even go so far as to say I create my business around my life instead of settling for a life around my business). Getting away from business and renewing yourself will also actually make you more productive and creative.

3) Identify your strengths, abilities and passions.

Ask yourself these simple questions:

“What am I good at?”
“What do people around me tell me I’m good at?”
“What do I enjoy doing?”
“How do I best communicate my message with others?”
“What would you consider doing even if it didn’t pay you anything?”

4) Identify which marketing method(s) you feel will BEST attract and get in front of the niche target market?

You should think about who your prospects are, the niche area you are in, which method(s) may be most likely to target/reach them effectively, etc.

5) Consider the amount of leverage you want to work with.

Different methods have varying degrees of leverage built in e.g. content creation (video, articles, etc.) can be done once and can potentially work for you 24/7, 365 for many years to come versus social networking which can be time consuming and requires consistent effort on your part.

6) Consider the marketing trends and the amount of competing marketers using that method.

It’s always good to keep the trends in mind because you want to be identifying where the best results are achieved (and hence the trend).

Another thing to consider is saturation. Is everybody trying to market using the same strategies? Can you realistically stand a chance to stand out from the crowd using the same marketing strategies?

So there you have it. My two cents on what to consider when deciding on which marketing strategies to focus on.

Remember to consider the above factors when deciding on which marketing strategies to focus on and you’ll be well on your way to mastering each marketing strategy, one at a time, and building a profitable business.

Start A Small Business – The Pros and Cons of Being an Entrepreneur

Are you ready to start a small business and taking back control of your life and your family’s future? Starting a small business and being an entrepreneur can be a twenty-four-hours-a-day, seven-days-a-week obsession. It can be extremely rewarding or very painful. Being your own boss can be exhilarating one minute and terrifying the next. So can being financially responsible for the success or failure of your enterprise.

As you read the pros and cons listed below, think about what you want out of life. What are your priorities? If being independent, working hard, and building your own fortune are goals of yours, and you aren’t afraid of taking risks and possibly failing, entrepreneurship may be for you. If you value financial security and the support of colleagues, you’ll probably do better as an employee rather than an entrepreneur.

Pros of Starting A Small Business

Independence:

Business owners do not have to follow orders or observe working hours set by someone else. Entrepreneurship can even provide an opportunity for someone to prove to society what he or she can accomplish.

Satisfaction:

Turning a skill, hobby, or other interest into your own small business can be very satisfying.

Financial Reward:

Through hard work, the sky is the limit. Most of the great fortunes in this country were built by entrepreneurs. Countless small businesses have grown in to large companies that have produced fortunes for their owners. Many entrepreneurs also create wealth by building businesses and selling them when they have become profitable. A successful business can sometimes be sold for a tremendous sum.

Self-Esteem:

Knowing you created something valuable can give you a strong sense of accomplishment.

Cons of Starting A Small Business

Business Failure:

Many small businesses fail. You risk losing not only your money but also the money invested in your business by others. Henry Ford, the founder of Ford Motor Company, had several small business failures before making it big. He once said, “Failure is a chance to begin again more intelligently. It is just a resting place.” He also said, “We learn more from our failures than our successes.”

Obstacles:

You will run into problems that you will have to solve by yourself. You may face discouragement from family and friends. Liz Claiborne’s family was dead set against her becoming a fashion designer and starting her own business. Her father was afraid the business world would be too rough on her. Claiborne proved him wrong by building Liz Claiborne, Inc. into a billion-dollar corporation.

Loneliness:

It can be lonely and even a little scary to be completely responsible for the success or failure of your business.

Financial Insecurity:

You are not guaranteed a set salary or any benefits. You may not always have enought money to pay yourself. King C. Gillette invented the disposable razor and started the Gillete Company, which is a billion-dollar business today. In 1901, though, Gillette’s fledgling company was $12,500 in debt – a lot of money back then. As Gillette recalled, “We were backed up to the wall with our creditors lined up in front waiting for the signal to fire.” Gillette managed to secure financing from a Boston millionaire and save the company. An entrepreneur may face equally intense financial challenges many times.

Long Hours/Hard Work:

You will have to work long hours to get your business off the ground. Some entrepreneurs work six or seven days a week. During the early years of establishing McDonald’s restaurants, around the country, Ray Kroc worked about eighty hours a week. His simple motto was, “Press on.”

As you may have realized while reading the above pros and cons of starting a small business and being an entrepreneur, they often represent two sides of the same coin. The hard work of establishing and running your own small business can reap great financial rewards and build your self-esteem.

Although you may face loneliness, financial insecurity, and other setbacks, as you overcome these obstacles you will become a much stronger person. Even if you r business fails, you will have gained valuable business experience. Your next business will be more likely to succeed.

How To Get Rid of Procrastination, Now!

Do you put off your work for later, only to find your deadlines steadily creeping in? Then you, my friend, are one of the millions of people afflicted by the procrastination virus. Procrastination is the biggest reason for loss of productivity and late output. Though many would not admit it, they would benefit greatly if they start their work on time.

For many people, putting off their work for later is more habit than desire. It can be so hard to get into a groove where starting your tasks in a timely fashion is a priority, especially if the consequences for being late are things that one can probably bear.

If you are one of these people, yet you desire to shake off your propensity for procrastination, then you have come to the right place. Here are a few tips to help you overcome this dilemma and become a more productive and reliable person.

1. Set schedules - It is very important that you have a list of activities to accomplish per day. This will help you realistically budget your time and resources. One of the cardinal sins people commit in regards to performing their tasks is to put off their work because they feel like there is so much time left. A journal, organizer, or calendar of events will help you plan and schedule your task so that you can start them promptly and finish them on time.

2. Save the Vacation for Later – Many people put their work off for later saying, “I’ll just have a little fun then buckle down to work later.” While it may be true that they may have more than enough time to accomplish their tasks, it would be better if they finished their work first and relax afterwards.

Wouldn’t relaxation be sweeter if it were after a taxing job? If you choose to lay back and relax before doing your tasks, you will be more prone to burnout and will have nothing exciting left to look forward to after accomplishing a task. It is always better to have slack period AFTER a job than before one, especially considering that people are wont to overusing their slack time. This is suicide if you are heading towards a deadline.

3. Never Underestimate Your Tasks – Sometimes procrastination sets in because people underestimate the resources, difficulty, and time spent for a particular task. They will usually say, “It’s just mowing the lawn, its easy; I could do it in a jiffy.” The problem is, no matter how trivial the task, it still takes time and resources to accomplish. If you underestimate a task, you will most likely set too little time to do it and schedule it too close to its deadline.

4. Don’t Allow Yourself to Get Comfortable Doing Nothing - It would definitely help if you kept a subconscious alarm whenever you are doing nothing. Get this alarm to remind you of things that may need to be done. This will help you foster the notion that jobs accomplished now means more time for relaxation later. However, even if this is the case, do not forget to put ample time in for rest and to remove all thoughts of troubles before hitting the sack. The trick here, however, is not to overdo you rest. There is a difference between resting and idling. Always set the right amount of time for rest and stick to that schedule.

Wishing you nothing but success,
